The decorative side of the fastener is free to your own choice. The design no longer needs to fit through a buttonhole.

If the fastener design is no longer up to your liking, if it does not go with your top or if you just fancy something different, then remove it and replace it with a different Double Button. Round in the morning, square in the evening, antique silver in the morning, gold in the evening.
